Head Office

Well set the scene...

An egg timer goes off, "COFFEE" everyone shouts from their rooms...the last to shout makes the coffee.

Yes, our head office is a busy and overcrowded one but that's just how we like it. Consisting of our 'take on' team (recruitment and training), finance officer and all three directors...

Perhaps you'll find Charlie Roberts mischievously daring all offices to challenges such as 'The cinnamon challenge'

Or maybe its Charlie Hardwick throwing a tantrum because she was the first 'Charlie' in head office so why should she be given a nickname?

Whether you're visiting for an interview, or simply to discuss your wages... these are just some of the things you should expect to walk in on!

But honestly, we do actually work...

Meet The Team

James Eden,
Managing Director

A few years back, eight to be exact, I was seeking care for my elderly father. I walked into an office to inquire about their services and was quite disappointed with the customer service I received.

The more I hunted, the more apparent it became just how poor customer service was within the care sector and how mis treated Care Assistants were. So, with no experience in this field and only a civil engineering degree, I opened our first office in Southampton and the rest is history.

My overall aim of this business is to ensure our staff feel appreciated and supported at all times and so to do this, our managers have all been carefully selected for their friendly and caring approach. This is then filtered through their teams onto our Care Assistants and I truly believe that if our staff are happy, then our clients will be happy also.

Rachel Hardwick,
Director/Regional Manager

Applying for a care assistant role over six years ago, I have since progressed, now being fully responsible for all offices and overseeing all care related activities.

Gaining my Level 5 and my AET, my biggest achievement would still have to be, being where I am now. Enthuse Care was my first role in the Care Sector, so who knew I’d be in charge of four offices with absolutely no plans to stop there. Working closely with James and Izzy…we really do make an A team and my goal is to continue striving for the best reputation and relationships with all our partners, care assistants and clients because that is what really makes Enthuse Care different and like no other.

I have worked alongside James for over seven years now, starting as a Care Assistant when we were only a small office in Southampton, now leading the business’s development and very much focusing on the growth and expansion of the company as a whole.

With the assistance of my Regional's, I oversee all marketing, recruitment, training and finance and my ambition is to continue developing my knowledge so that James can one day retire- leaving the company in the safe hands of myself and Rachel, where we will tag team in steering the company to its maximum potential.

Kirsty Lodwidge,
Registered Manager

I have always enjoyed working in the care sector, my previous roles included working on a cardiac ward in a hospital, and progressing through the ranks at Enthuse Care from Care assistant to supervisor and from Deputy Regional Manager to now, Registered Manager.

My role involves assisting Rachel in the everyday management of all offices and all Care Managers.

We are a friendly company that gives the impression that we are family run, but were not, were all just very close and have each other’s backs. My best achievement has been leading our 23-mile walk from our Southampton office to our new Milton office, raising over £100 for a charity very close to my heart, Macmillan.

Debbie Walkley,
Registered Manager

After being in care since 2006, working both in the community and in care homes, I had an injury that prevented me from doing hands on care.

I really didn’t know where I would go after that, so applied for the Supervisor position with Enthuse Care. After driving to Southampton (and nearly being involved in a car crash on the motorway) I finally made my interview. The staff that interviewed me made me feel comfortable and relaxed and I was offered the position a few days later. Starting in January 2017, made up to Care Coordinator in the May and now proud Care Manager of our office here in Portsmouth. I’m happy to say Enthuse Care is a great company to work for, it is really friendly and welcoming, and we have a great team!

Sarah Anderson,
Regional Recruitment Manager

When I first started as a part time Care Assistant over 5 years ago, I was temporarily moved over to assist Izzy with the recruitment and haven’t been able to leave since!

We only had two small offices and since have rapidly expanded, opening another two locations and hiring 3 more recruiters who I now manage. My role is to audit and ensure all offices are reaching targets to enable maximum growth, whilst looking at innovate ways of advertising to attract the best possible carers out there.

My goal is to continue expanding my recruitment team.

The best thing about my job is the people, from the management team all the way through to our interviewees!

We get to travel to all our offices, hosting interviews and staying in regular contact with the care managers, and we all have such a great relationship, so everyday in my job is fun. We run all other aspects of recruitment from our head office, so of course, working closely with the girls, who I have built such great friendships with over the 4 years since I have worked for Enthuse Care, also makes my job that extra bit special. Since working here, I have been supported in passing my driving test, leaving for maternity to welcome my baby boy into the world, and am now focused on slowly building back up to full time so that I can progress further and build my career!

The best thing I love about my job is my colleagues! Having only worked here for a few months and as the newest member of the recruitment team, I have never felt more comfortable, the people I work with actually make me want to come to work…

Alongside of that, I was previously a Senior carer specialising in mental health for more than six years- I’ve always wanted to help people and I’m just so happy that I can now use the experience and knowledge gained and be a part of the selection process in finding what we believe, is a suitable carer.

I joined with Enthuse Care to help out through the Covid-19 situation and have ended up staying as I love the company and everyone I work with so much!

I love the family dynamic each office has and the company as a whole. I love recruiting new employees and being part of their journey. Every member of the Enthuse Care Team are such a pleasure to work with and I couldn’t think of a greater group of people to spend every day with.

My career in care and in fact with Enthuse Care, began with my work experience when I was in year 10. I worked alongside Izzy when the recruitment was just starting to expand, and it was just about a one-person role.

Now, after working as a Care Assistant for two years, Care Coordinating for one year and returning from maternity… I am now back in the recruitment team consisting of 5 full time recruiters! Having experience in both sides of the business has really given me an amazing opportunity to be the best I can be and I am just thankful that there is such great communication between all offices and all teams as I am able to still able to be involved in Care (even though I am often told to butt out).

Charlotte Hardwick,
Finance Officer

Being the youngest of Enthuse Care, this is the first step on the ladder towards my accounting career.

I am currently completing my Level 3 in bookkeeping and accounting and run the finance, invoicing, payroll and stock control for all offices. The biggest pain is the amount of advances the staff make me process! Weekly! But I wouldn’t change that for the world, I secretly love keeping in contact with them all and winding them up near payday.

I will further my knowledge and complete a Level 4 Diploma so that I can become the legal accountant for Enthuse Care.

Margaret Moore,
Regional Training Manager

5 years ago, a friend of mine recommended a role with Enthuse Care, she believed I had the right attitude and personality for looking after someone- patient and caring.

I am always the person in my circle of friends and family, that they come to if someone needs a chat. After many years of doing all types of jobs, including training health and safety and even working at the races where in fact I met the queens mother, I started working with Enthuse Care and after about 2 months, I knew this was the job I was supposed to be doing. I really like helping people- seeing them smile is the most rewarding feeling and just knowing I have made someone’s day better (whilst being paid for it!!). I have been office based for two years now as a trainer and have built up a close circle of friends that are more like family. I would like to see the company expand and continue to support our newbies to be 100 percent dedicated to looking after our service users!

I started off working in care over 11 years ago after my mum became ill with cancer, it inspired me to help look after those who are vulnerable and less able.

I loved it straight away and have never looked back since. I joined Enthuse in 2015 as my last role at another care company became very monotonous and I no longer felt challenged, whereas here at Enthuse it was quite the opposite. They are constantly taking on new packages and I got to meet and assist a lot of lovely service users daily. In 2020 I was offered the role of in house trainer…I felt a bit nervous at first as it was so different from caring in the community, but its really helped me to broaden my horizons and gain confidence with my driving ( I was very nervous to drive on the motorway). I love meeting all the inductees and passing on my skills and knowledge in my years of training.

I enjoy working with people of all abilities and backgrounds and have built up experience in various fields including child care, people with challenging behaviour, and profound multiple learning disabilities.

I came into care to extend my knowledge of dementia and domiciliary care. I enjoy meeting new people and how varied each day can be. I also enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and hearing about why they want to join the care team.

My goal is to continue expanding my recruitment team.
